Its new Space Chaos Silver Force Fighter was picked out by show organiser the British Toy and Hobby Association, as one of the best Construction Toys. Children in lab coats put the new toys through their paces yesterday at the industry show where the hot new toys for the year ahead are unveiled.

Space Chaos is a futuristic collection of drones, patrols , raiders, bombers, fighters, commanders and destroyers. Each model comes with stickers to add to the ship and trading cards showing the unique powers of each spaceship.

A secret code found on each trading card can be entered online to access lots of extras including wallpapers, posters, transformation cards, combat cards and the game board to play the Space Chaos card game.

The innovation is in the new threaded metal bars: the screw thread is integrated. No more bolts which were often too tricky for the young hands to manipulate. The screws fit quickly straight into the metal bars.

Helix is currently developing an original script with an eye towards creating a film franchise based on the Erector brand that could also expand to other entertainment platforms including television and video games. While details of the story are being kept under wraps, the film will be a family fantasy/adventure.
